Orange Collection is a special anniversary clothing
collection by Garneti Exhibit- A
world class brand of fashion accessories and an exclusive costume making
outfit, with base in Akwa Ibom where she is known for exotic designs, having
made a grand debut by staging a world class brand launch early in 2012, at the
prestigious Monty Suites hall, Uyo.
The feeling of this Carnival is the
sharp criticism, the funny play on words and the imagination in the costumes,
more than the glamorous dressings. As the
Official Costume Design Company for
Orange Carnival 2012, Garneti designed samples of some costumes for Orange Carnival 2012. So we stopped by
at the studio to have shots of what they look like.
Orange Carnival costumes are to be in Orange, that’s the
significance and uniqueness of the Carnival. Costumes pass messages that stick
to the mind. The cultural heritage of different tribes will be showcased
through the costume designs. We advise that you are comfortably dressed for the
occasion as it may be hot or may drizzle for a few minutes (as it always does).
Costumes worn can be related to
a profession- e.g. – groups dressed in attires related to professions like
Doctors, Lawyers, and/or Engineers. Costumes can also relate with recent news,
e.g. - the bird flu
epidemic (dressed as chickens). Even though masks will be readily available, it
is traditional to paint faces.
